Landing Gear by Amelia
This elegant piece is created using the nose landing gear door of a Boeing 737 as its primary feature. The door, which maintains aerodynamic profile during flight, is one of two to extend downwards under the nose of the aircraft before landing, and retains its original blue and red paintwork and SR registration marking. The door and the base are connected by virtue of aluminium struts, somewhat reminiscent of a biplane. This piece is finished off with a base of polished black matrix natural stone of Brazilian origin, which contains a cloud- like effect with dark and grey speckled tones throughout. The piece is topped with toughened glass which hovers over the door on aluminium cantilevered stilts.
